Walk and Roll

Safe Routes to School (SRTS) is a K-8 international program designed to educate and encourage students on walking and biking safely to school.  In addition, we also educate adults on the benefits incorporated with walking and biking to school.
A Safe Route To School Action Plan is an outline of a school community's intentions for making travel, to and from school, sustainable and safe. This year's Top concerns to focus on are:

1. Speeding at Pick-Up and Drop-Off Areas

2. Motivate Students to Walk or Bike to School

Last school year, 2020-2021 we were able to secure a crossing guard at the crosswalk closest to the student entrance by the playground. Our goal for the 2020-2021 school year was to get the crosswalk on Balzar closest to MLK re-painted for maximum visibility, which was accomplished but we could not do this without the help of our CCSD Partnership office, Safe Routes to Schools Program and our relationship with the City of Las Vegas. We want to provide our community with a fun but safe way to get to school. For this reason, all grade levels will receive lessons during their PE special on this topic. They will have videos and presentations on Pedestrian and Biking Safety.

Please help us by modeling the best pedestrian, biking and driving behaviors.
